TEAM SOMA
Meet The Team
Rachel (She/Her)
Rachel is the beating heart of SOMA! For starters, she was primarily the one who orchestrated the idea and now keeps it afloat by running all the behind the mat business type stuff!
Rachel holds a deeper connection to the space of SOMA as she used to train with Carol Newbould at the Newall School of Theatre Dance, which was the former staus of our yoga home! So is steeped in nostalgia and memories!
Rachel’s got a beautiful background of dance, yoga and therapeutic social work and it’s this ace fusion of talents that contributes to SOMA’s ethos.
Despite having yoga training under her belt, Rach plans to stay a little on the teaching side lines and focus on the very important job of keeping SOMA alive – she’s the person to ask if you’re having technical issues with our booking system, need to know what workshop is on when and is the mastermind and magic maker behind all SOMA retreats. All the important stuff, essentially!
Georgie (She/Her)
George is founder and co-director of SOMA. With a background in dance, and as a dance therapist - George loves delivering juicy, intuitive and dynamic practices….sometimes energising and other times grounding…G meets the needs of the students in the moment and wants everyone to leave feeling held and embodied. Set to deliver empowering and feel good stuff, G loves working with kids (is a big one herself) so expect a dose of silliness, a warm welcome and some good tunes.
Kylie (She/They/Them)
Kylie is a yoga and movement facilitator with over 500hr RYTT. Their work
leans more into the realms of embodiment and cultivating deep presence and
relaxation. She is a devoted practitioner and eternal student, and has
qualifications in Hatha, Vinyasa, Yin and mindfulness as well as an Animal
Flow instructor. She has also studied tantrik philosophy in depth and
continues to weave philosophy into classes.
A hedge witch at heart, she also enjoys creating ritual and ceremony that
honour the cycles of nature and the moon.
From their classes you can expect raw, unfiltered authenticity alongside
some gentle and accessible postural work.

Her classes are lighthearted and fun, catering to each student’s individual needs, helping them to gain strength, flexibility, mindfulness and compassion, all in a safe and supportive environment for all.
Vicky
Vicky is our in house baker, chef and food extraordinare! Vick provides sumptious vegan bakes for all our pre and post natal classes (a time when we recognise having food handed to you is extremely important!) And if you’ve attended a supper club, you’ll have sampled Vicky’s one pot themed wonders, blasting with flavour and goodness. Every yoga studio should have an in house food Goddess on board, right???

Luisa (She/Her)
Originally a professional dancer, touring the world for 10 years, Louisa’s love of yoga started initially as a way to stretch out and wind down after a show. This then developed into a passion and definitive career move leading her to train as a yoga teacher with Yoga Alliance International as well as a dance teacher. Louisa teaches fun and firey barre classes as well flowing vinyasa sequences and calming yin sessions. She believes yoga and dance are truly for everyone and welcomes all levels to her classes.
Fiona
I just love teaching yoga and meeting new students. Come take Hot yoga with me at Soma.
I’ve been teaching yoga for 6 years in and around Leeds. My 20 years' experience as an Intensive care nurse has given me a good grounding in anatomy and physiology.
I also teach Yin yoga and in recent years delved into sound healing and you’ll see me hold Gong baths with Soma.
Rachel (She/Her)
Rachel teaches:
Kundalini yoga
Dru yoga
Senior yoga
Meditation for beginners
After practising dru yoga for 20 years I discovered Kundalini yoga and fell in love with this very different robust technique. They are yin and yang: dru offering a nurturing practice and slow transformation; kundalini inviting you to push yourself to break through mental resistance to elevate your consciousness...
sometimes very fast!
The contrast between the two practices is a challenging but creative one which keeps me thinking about how best to serve my students and share yoga in ways that are useful for real life.
